Brazos Bend Texas State Park

March 5, 2004 Forty Acre Lake Trail

6050w.jpg (62487 bytes) Things looked off to a slow start with the constant drizzle and the gate not opening until eight. The TP&W website said seven am on Fri. - Sunday.  Well the Ranger Station opens at seven only they don't open the gate until almost eight. At least I had a few visitors as I waited in the parking lot. I was parked next to the sign not in the handicapped place.

The rain drops on the flora is natural no need for a spray bottle here today. It looks like a promising spring wildflower season in Texas this year.

The American alligators are out in numbers today. From young to old they seem to be everywhere along the trail.
